    Didn’t Althusser kill his wife?! I suppose there’s nothing ideological about that, just psycho-killerish!

    Yep. Strangled his wife. There’s a fine line between absolute genius and pure insanity, and Althusser rode both lines of it.

    And yet, Althusser still remains for me one of the few Frenchmen not in Daft Punk worth listening to. He pushed Marx’s theories even further and focused them more clearly. And his ideas about ideologies were spot-on, excluding the machinations of cult leaders and marketing executives.
